Aluminum Spur Gear for Nitro Evader BX
RC Precision Products introduces it's new hop-up aluminum spur gear
for the Duratrax Nitro Evader BX. This upgrade eliminates frequent stripping
that is commonly associated with the stock, plastic gears.
For many people who have decided to try their hand at a nitro car,
the Duratrax Evader BX is their first stop. Far too often the sheer excitement
of these first experiences is cut short by of all things, a stripped spur gear.
Luckily, this part is included in the Duratrax one year warranty, and is not
very difficult to change. After having to replace this same gear a few more
times, it is apparent to many that there is room for improvement
here.
The solution to this minor inconvenience comes in the form
of an aluminum gear that is available from RC Precision Products. The Nitro
Evader BX Spur Gear, is a direct fit replacement for Duratrax part number
DTX9397. It is a 56 Tooth 32 Pitch aluminum gear that sells for $12.99 directly
from the RC Precision Products website, and sometimes on Ebay.
Aluminum Gear Installed
It is worth mentioning that this gear can also be used
with the Nitro Evader ST (with a little careful adjustment). Since the stock
gear for the Nitro Evader ST has 60 teeth, replacing it with this smaller gear
results in a tiny boost to top speed.
This compliments RC Precision Products existing lineup of
aluminum hop-up gears for Electric 1:10 scale Duratrax Evader models. Like all
